Pork. it's the Cadillac of meats. It makes dishes delicious. And let's be honest, you can't have a really good sausage without it. It's also the tie that binds this gangly bunch of cyclists together. We ride for a cause. We ride together because we believe bacon is a vegetable.
HIV/AIDS has been part of our lives for thirty years. In that time, we've made progress on many fronts but have yet to find a cure or even a viable vaccine. Today, the best we can say is that it's "manageable." And you know what that means? We still have a long way to go. PReP is a step in the right direction, but our journey isn't over yet.
People living with AIDS depend on people like us to raise money for vital organizations that help them. Together on our bikes and through organized charity events like AIDS/LifeCycle and The S.M.A.R.T. Ride, we can provide people living with HIV/AIDS with services they wouldn't otherwise have access to, including health care, social services and medications. And that's why we need your help.
With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of thousands. Every one of the Pork Pedalers is committed to this idea, even if our legs protest as we push further down the long road to ending the threat of HIV. And each of us has a fantastic recipe for pork chops.
Check out our team roster and if you can, help us reach our goal of raising at least $60,000 for a very worthy cause.
